Gardner Farms |
Gardner Farms was started by Les and Shirley Gardner roughly 33 years ago. It is situated out on a scenic piece of land south-east of Quesnel, about half an hour out the Quesnel-Hydraulic Road at the end of Garvin Rd. The Gardners started out raising beef and sheep and growing hay, before expanding to market gardening as well. Now they primarily market garden, deciding to cut back on their production in order to semi-retire and have time off in the winter, while remaining on the farm they love and would never leave.
Gardner Farms' booth has been a regular feature at the Farmers' Market for the past 15 years, and is well known for their pickling cucumbers, big onions, greenhouse tomatoes, corn, potatoes, and carrots. You can also find some flowers at their booth, as well as homemade preserves. Since they only sell at the Farmers' Market, they encourage everyone to come down early for the best selection!
